Simple, budget-friendly. Made with lean, flavorful turkey for a different, yet still amazing version of a classic!
Directions
INGREDIENTS:
1 large TVF egg
1 1/2 pounds TVF ground turkey
1 medium apple, cored and grated
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup seasoned panko bread crumbs
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
FOR THE SAUCE:
1/2 C ketchup
1 Tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tsp vinegar (cider or red wine)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp black pepper
DIRECTIONS:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and coat with olive oil
- Meatloaf: In a large bowl, beat the egg. Add meatloaf ingredients. Using hands, combine until everything is well mixed. Transfer to sheet pan and form into a football-shaped loaf, about 9x5 inches
- Sauce: In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, W-sauce, and pepper. Pour evenly over the top of the meatloaf, dripping down the sides.
- Bake until internal temp is 160 degrees, 45-55 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
