Best Taco Meat

Adding chorizo to your taco meat recipe kicks it up more than a few notches. Warning...your family will never eat the packaged seasoning mix again!

Directions
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound TVF ground beef
1 pound TVF chorizo sausage
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 onion chopped fine
2 jalapeno peppers, stemmed, seeded, and chopped fine
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp cumin
2 canned chipotle peppers in adobe sauce, minced (more if you like more heat)
1 10oz can diced tomatoes with juices
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
DIRECTIONS:
- cook beef and chorizo in a large skillet or dutch oven 6-8 minutes until no longer pink. Season with salt/pepper
- stir in onion and jalapeno and cook another 6-8 minutes until soft. Add garlic, cumin, and chipotle peppers until fragrant about 1 more minute
- stir in tomatoes and juices and simmer for about 10 more minutes until flavors meld.
- remove from heat and add cilantro before serving
Recipe can be stored in refrigerator for a few days before eating or a few months in the freezer.
